Los Angeles Dynamo History
Los Angeles Dynamo History

Los Angeles Dynamo was founded in 1991. In the early stage of the club there was only a men’s Semi Pro team. The men’s team was compiled of former World Class players including Alexander Khapsalis who played for the former U.S.S.R and the European Super Cup Champions Dynamo Kiev FC. The men’s team was well respected in Los Angeles as they rolled through leagues and tournaments.

As the club gained popularity it was time to assemble a youth academy. Under the direction of Alex Khapsalis the youth academy had instant credibility and respect. As time passed the boy’s team moved to the El Camino Real league and found success winning the title multiple seasons.

Later the club introduced two more youth boy’s teams which were also under the direction of Alex Khapsalis. The senior boy’s team was also coached by Roma Sharf and Igor Beyder.

At the peak, the Los Angeles Dynamo soccer club had three competitive boys’ teams. All three teams participated in prestigious tournaments and leagues. At the same time the club also had an Over 30 team.

The club produced a couple of professional players.
